UPDATE: Boil Water Notice - Water customers on the east side of town that were affected by the water main break earlier this week do not have to boil water any longer. All of the water samples have come back negative for bacteria and the water is safe for consumption straight from the tap without boiling first.
Construction crews damaged a 12” water main along M-75 South immediately west of Air Industrial Drive in Boyne City at approximately 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 10th. Numerous Boyne City water customers east of Charlevoix County Road Commission building on M-75 are affected including some totally without water, including the Boyne Hills subdivision. It is estimated that it will take several hours for repairs to be made and water restored. Affected customers can fill up containers with water in the Boyne City Veterans Park Pavilion kitchen until water is restored.
A boil water advisory is being issued for all affected water customers. The area affected is from Beardsley east to BC Lanes, including Nordic Drive and Air industrial Drive to Altair and Lexamar Corporation. Boil Water notices are being handed out to affected customers.
