Public Input Opportunities

Avalanche (base of hill) Master Plan

Based on input and feedback from the community, below are schematic plans designed by the consultant for the base of Avalanche.  The proposed project consists of defining parking areas, relocation of a new warming house, redesign and relocation of the ice-rink, natural buffers on the sledding hill, landscape, stormwater run-off treatments and trail entrance signage.  The plan also identifies a new potential entrance from the 1910 Waterworks building and an improved park setting at the Waterworks building.

Open Space Master Plan

Based on input and feedback from the community, below are schematic plans designed by the consultant for the Open Space property located on N. Lake St. (across from the Family Fare grocery store).  The theme from most individuals was to keep it simple and preserve the views of the lake.  The plan consists of improving a small beach area, adding minimal playscape equipment, plantings to protect the natural shoreline, adding some shade tree and seating throughout the park, delineating a parking area, walkways and street crossings.  In addition to public input, feedback was provided from Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council, Little Traverse Conservancy and the Lake Charlevoix Association.
